Quick and Easy Blender Hollandaise

October 31, 2017

Hollandaise sauce is a traditional French sauce that is typically made in a double boiler, over low heat, whisking for a long time until you get a thick creamy sauce- similar to a mayonnaise. Before I discovered this easy blender hollandaise, I tried to be traditional and make it the way it’s intended a few times, but failed miserably. My sauce would either curdle from too much heat, or come out too runny from adding in the butter too fast. Plus, I would ALWAYS have a huge mess and 20 different dishes to wash. I started looking for easier, fool proof ways that I could make the famous sauce without all the hassle and dirty dishes to wash afterwards.

This easy blender hollandaise is everything I hoped it would be. It’s quick, easy, absolutely delicious and best of all, fool proof. We taught this sauce in our breakfast cooking class a while back and it was a huge success. People who have never made hollandaise sauce before, made an amazing, thick and creamy hollandaise for their first time in 5 minutes time. And my favorite part is that there is only 2 dishes to wash afterwards! Yay!

Pour this easy blender hollandaise sauce over your Eggs Benedict (my favorite way to use it!) or use it on your steamed asparagus, grilled salmon, or steak and eggs. There is no wrong way of using this delicious sauce!

With the mixer still running on low, in a VERY slow but steady stream, begin to pour in the warm, melted butter. If you do this too fast, the butter will separate from the eggs and you will have a very runny sauce.

When you’ve poured about half of the butter in, you can start pouring it in a little faster stream.
Once all butter is mixed in, stop mixer, scrape sides down to make sure everything in incorporated and give it one more mix. Keep sauce warm and use immediately. Sprinkle with cayenne, crushed black pepper, paprika or fresh herbs.
