Hey world! We are so happy that you have decided to join us on this crazy exciting adventure called blogging. This is something that both of us have been wanting to do for so long, but never had the courage to jump into headfirst. The fall season was just starting and the change in the air prompted us to reflect on our lives and what changes we wanted to make. So over made-to-order donuts and hot fresh coffee at Lola’s, we found ourselves talking about what the next chapter in our lives looks like and what we wanted to change, accomplish, and try out. To our surprise, the first thing both of us listed was blogging. Looking back, however, this was a natural progression given that we both have backgrounds in writing and love to cook/bake for others. We decided to channel all our energy and passion into a project that would allow us to share our experiences with you!
If it weren’t for our friendship, this blog wouldn’t exist, so it only feels right to start there. We’ve known each other for about three years now, and though it may not seem long, the moments and memories that have made up these years are valuable and significant. Our families originally met through church. We were in the same community group, served together, participated in the same leadership meetings, and frequented the same events. This is what helped build the solid foundation for our friendship (also, the fact that our husbands got along pretty well). Since then, there have been tears and laughter, vacations and date nights, book clubs and play dates, birthdays and holidays, movie nights and poker nights, late night pizzas and early morning crumpets, girls night and football parties, cabin stays and getaways… So many good memories we couldn’t list them all. We joke that if we don’t get together for a week, if feels likes forever. In a way, we have become like family to each other and that is how we want to keep it.
We want to extend our friendship to you and ask you to join us as we cook, bake, celebrate, and decorate our way through the seasons!
Starting this blog has been a combination of hard work and a lot of fun. One of our favorite things so far was going out to snap some photos together. We had a great time goofing around, practicing our model poses, and capturing glimpses of our friendship.
“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: “What! You too? I thought I was the only one.”
